Contact and Collaboration
I welcome contact from researchers, students, and R&D teams working at the intersection of uncertainty-aware modeling, adaptive sensing, closed-loop experimentation, and control.
Research Collaboration
My current research program develops mechanistically grounded machine learning for adaptive biomedical sensing and closed-loop experimentation. I am interested in collaborations that connect probabilistic inference, sequential decision-making, and experimental platforms.
Topics I actively pursue:
- Adaptive sensing and experiment selection under uncertainty
- Probabilistic inference and uncertainty quantification for physical and biomedical systems
- Closed-loop experimental platforms (human-supervised autonomous experimentation)
- Model predictive control and optimization for cyber-physical systems
- Mechanistic machine learning with physical forward models
Collaboration modes:
- Joint research projects and grant proposals
- Co-supervision of PhD and MSc research
- Methodological consulting on experimental design, inference, and control
- Visiting researcher exchanges
I am a Guest Researcher at Hangzhou Institute of Technology, Xidian University, and maintain active collaborations in Switzerland, Denmark, and China.
For Prospective Students
I am open to inquiries from motivated students interested in research at the intersection of probabilistic inference, control, and adaptive experimentation. Suitable backgrounds include control theory, machine learning, optimization, signal processing, or related quantitative fields.
When contacting me about student research opportunities, please include:
- Your background and relevant coursework or projects
- Specific research topics that interest you
- Whether you are seeking a thesis project, research internship, or PhD position
I currently work primarily through my host institution (Xidian University) and existing collaborations. Direct inquiries are welcome but response times may vary.
Invited Talks and Professional Activities
I am available for invited talks, seminars, and workshop contributions on:
- Uncertainty-aware modeling and closed-loop decision systems
- Adaptive biomedical sensing and autonomous experimentation
- Probabilistic system identification and Bayesian inference
- Microgrid control, optimization, and energy-system applications
- Research data management and scientific computing workflows
Previous professional activities include serving as Academic Committee Advisor for the Hong Kong World Youth Science Conference & Xiangjiang Nobel Forum (2026).
Consulting and R&D Collaboration
Selected consulting engagements in machine learning, optimization, and control are considered on a project basis. These are secondary to my primary research activity. For R&D collaboration inquiries, please describe the technical challenge and desired outcome.
